Aja Adams is an American multimedia artist, educator, performer, and independent curator based in Chicago. Adams identifies as gender non-conforming (them/they/Aja). Aja’s work is inventive and opens hidden histories with fantastical detours into their imaginary characters that manifest in bold expressive works of art. Adams re-imagines beyond the visible frame that encompasses the multiple and shifting perspectives which we experience in the social realm. Adams’ visual language is best known for its intricate, expressive style and their characters’ candid investigation of hidden histories within marginalized narratives.
